SOMA / Shooting: Around 2:15am Sunday morning, police responded to a shooting near 5th and Mission that injured two men. The target, a man in his 40s, is thought to have been walking when he was approached by a man who shot him various times. A bystander was hit in the chest by a wayward bullet. Both were immediately taken to San Francisco General Hospital and are expected to make a full recovery. There are no reports on motive. [KTVU]

Sunnydale / Robbery: A man was robbed twice Saturday after he ran after some crooks who had broken into his car. The suspects returned to rob the man himself, demanding more money, and ripping off his earring in the process. [Examiner]

East Oakland / Murder: Sunday afternoon, an East Oakland man was killed in his car, as his 6 year old son sat and watched from inside the vehicle. Jose Esparaza, 39, had just left the grocery store where it's speculated two men tried to rob him. The two men shot Esperaza, who was later pronounced dead at the hospital. This is Oakland's 78th homicide of the year, up from 59 the same time last year. Police are offering $15,000 for any information leading to the arrest of the gunmen.
