Oh dear... a 41-year-old woman, so intoxicated that she couldn't even stand up, crashed her car in Daly City Friday night after taking her daughter to see The Smurfs. While we may sympathize with the need to numb oneself before suffering through such a film, we here at SFist are collectively looking very sternly and shaking our fingers at this woman, because there should never have been an automobile involved.
The woman couldn't even be arrested for a DUI she was so drunk; she was taken to a hospital and later released. Her husband showed up on the scene of the accident, which occurred in the garage of the Century 20 theater in Daly City, and retrieved their daughter, who was uninjured. A bottle of vodka was found in the woman's purse. She has not yet been charged with a crime.
