Noted San Francisco attorney Donald Casper died over the weekend after being struck by a hit-run driver while jogging. "The 63-year-old was apparently jogging eastbound along the south edge of River Road just west of Wilshire Drive when he was hit by a white pickup truck with an extended cab around 7 p.m.," reports CBS 5.

Witnesses at the scene told officers that the driver slowed down after impact "before fleeing eastbound on River Road."

A fourth-generation San Franciscan, Casper was at Jacobs, Spotswood and Casper. "He was serving as a member of the San Francisco Civil Service Commission after being appointed by Mayor Willie Brown in 2000."
