Wednesday Morning Link Dump

  • Yikes, the Giants let a 5th game slide out from under them as the Diamondbacks beat Lincecum and the boys 6-1. San Francisco and the D'Backs are now tied for first in the NL West. [CBS5]

  • In case you missed the Examiner's big fat cover photo yesterday, the Giants are putting Barry Zito back on the DL. And the whole thing is kind of a conundrum! [KTVU] [McCoveyChron]

  • Who's behind Ed Lee? Well, Chinatown and money are (obviously), but we're not quite sure who (or what) else. And those 51,000 signatures the Run Ed Run team has been touting? Not verified by the Dept. of Elections. [SFAppeal]

  • Ross Mirkarimi and the Jazz Mafia celebrated the City's new live music permits on the steps of City Hall yesterday. Also, tomorrow is Ross' birthday, which he will again celebrate with Jazz and a fundraiser for his Sheriff's campaign.

  • Famous people eating: Bill Gates enjoys Bourbon Steak and Olympic speed skater Apolo Ohno did a couple laps of Foreign Cinema and 5A5 Steak Lounge. Richard Lewis, in town for standup at Cobb's last weekend, also dropped in to Boulevard for lunch. [Tablehopper]

  • Those National Night Out events last night saw a big turnout in Oakland. A rap label even donated a bouncey castle. Delightful. [KTVU]
