Richmond / Murder: Another weekend in Richmond ends with another dead: One man was wounded and a woman was killed as they drove into an apartment complex at the corner of Eighth Street and Nevin Avenue around 3 a.m. this morning. The victim has been identified as 25-year-old Rose McFadden, a mother of four. This marks the city's 22nd homicide of the year, surpassing the total homicide count for all of last year. West Oakland / Multiple Murders:
The weekend saw three homicides in Oakland. 16-year-old Najon Jackson was killed just before midnight Saturday on the 9300 block of Sunnyside Street in East Oakland — and his 18-year-old brother was also shot and killed last fall. 26-year-old Giselle Ortiz was gunned down in West Oakland in the early morning hours of Sunday. San Rafael / Attempted Rape: A woman was heard screaming "rape" on a street in San Rafael Sunday morning around 5:40, and neighbors quickly called police. The 49-year-old victim says she was attacked by two men, now in custody, as she was on her way to her car to go to work. [Marin IJ]
