Those Run Ed Run people, and their rosey-cheeked maker Rose Pak, appear to have swayed their reluctant candidate, ladies and gentlemen. Seven months and two trips to the White House later, Interim Mayor Ed Lee is now said to be "leaning" toward running for the position of Actual Mayor.
The Chron reports that four separate, anonymous city officials say Lee has basically made up his mind, and will likely announce his candidacy next week, leaving two weeks to file the paperwork before the August 12th filing deadline for mayoral hopefuls.
Currently, Lee is up in Washington State, possibly playing golf, and visiting family.
