Mission / Gun Possession & Narcotics Possession: A man was arrested during a routine police check at a bar on the 3700 block of Mission on Saturday night. We're thinking this is one of several Latino-centric dives on that block, and cops witnessed the man, just after 7 p.m., stumbling drunk with coke all over his lips and nostrils. Turned out he had a gun magazine in his pocket, and cops found a gun in his car, which he let them search. He was arrested on gun and drug charges. [Examiner]
Union Square / Beating: Two dudes in their 20s, likely exiting Vessel nightclub on Campton Place, got jumped by four thugs on Thursday night/early Friday. It doesn't even seem like robbery was the motive, just some pummeling. One of the suspects was apprehended shortly thereafter. The two victims were treated at St. Francis hospital for their injuries, which were not life threatening. [Examiner]
Richmond (District) / Stabbing: A man wielding a pair of scissors cut one man and stabbed another in the back during a bar fight Friday on Clement Street. [Examiner]
Richmond / Homicide: It is not a good summer in Richmond, CA, with the ninth murder of the month happening late Saturday. Two men were shot in an incident that's being characterized as unconnected to recent gang-war-related shootings, with a 20-year-old man dying of his wounds and a 29-year-old injured. This marks the 21st homicide of 2011 for Richmond, the same number of homicides in the city in all of 2010. [Chron]
East Palo Alto / Shooting: It's also shaping up to be an extra-violent year in East Palo Alto, where an 18-year-old was killed and a 19-year-old wounded in a shooting outside a taqueria last night. [NBC]
