SFPD issued a correction to their original report regarding this morning's Embarcadero bike-truck crash, saying that the cyclist actually suffered life-threatening injures. (The initial report listed her dead.) Also, it seems that a minor traffic violation on behalf of the cyclist prompted the unfortunate scenario. According to surveillance footage, she had been pedaling east on Mission Street and was hit by the westbound truck as she turned left onto Fremont Street. "Both the truck driver and the bicyclist had a green light, but the bicyclist was making an illegal left turn," SFPD reports.

The injured cyclist, who suffered a serious head injury, was also not wearing a helmet at the time of impact. Alas.

Her current status is listed as life-threatening at a nearby hospital.
