Those fancy electronic parking meters installed around town have been gathering information about the parking habits of local drivers for a while now and as the Chronicle reports, they've got enough data to start adjusting rates based on neighborhood demand. Depending on your destination and the time of day, an hour of parking could cost you slightly less than riding Muni at $1.75 per hour or the same as a happy hour beer with a handful of change as a tip at $3.75. All told, about a third of the meters along the busy corridors of SFPark trial areas in Fisherman's Wharf, the Marina, the Fillmore, Hayes Valley, FiDi, SoMa and the Mission will be getting cheaper, slightly more than a third (37%) will keep their pre-SFPark pricing and 31% will be getting more expensive.
