Some kids at MIT (in connection with some sponsorship from AT&T) have put together this visualization project using cell phone data and the ways in which it travels around the country. It's called The Connected States of America, and the wonky sounding idea is that, through cell phones, we are creating new communities through our interaction that "go beyond traditional state boundaries." The video doesn't quite do it justice, we don't think, and the angle makes it hard to see SF separate from LA. But anyway, cute. [via Laughing Squid]
