An early morning officer-involved shooting closed Gough at Geary this morning. "Police have released few details about the incident, but a fire dispatcher said the fire department was notified of the shooting shortly before 8 a.m. and that one person was taken to a hospital," reports BCN (via SF Examiner). One resident near the crime scene said he heard "two shots then a rapid succession of five to 10 shots."

The suspect, an asian male around 36-years-old, was shot and taken to a nearby hospital and treated for non-life-threatening wounds. No officers were injured.

No word yet as to when the street will reopen to traffic.
