Portola / Shooting: A 26-year-old man was shot multiple times in the back yesterday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. on San Bruno Avenue, near Paul Avenue. He died later at S.F. General. The victim's name was Neilson Bates, and no motive for the murder is yet known. Police are looking for a black male in his late 20s, but they don't have a detailed description. [Chron]

Sunset / Botched Home Invasion: A burglar at a home near 33rd Avenue and Wawona tried to pass himself off as an innocent passerby trying to comfort the victims of the burglary, but the victims told the cops otherwise. A witness saw the burglar and an accomplice approach the home, and heard a loud bang. Both men were apprehended by police, and a handgun was found in a neighbor's yard. [Examiner]

Union City / Shooting: A 22-year-old man was shot while in his home on the 600 block of Whipple Road. The home happens to be the same one where 49-year-old Ruben Gonzalez Partida was fatally shot last month, and where Humberto Llamas Diaz was killed last September, so there might be some connection.
