Gavin Newsom, an authority when it comes to social media and politics, made an important announcement via that most concise social medium this morning. And the news may come as a surprise:

Correct, Lieutenant Governor, that is Gr8 News! (Sidenote: you know you had 24 characters left, right?)

In other non-announcements, after the Chronicle's Joe Garofoli wondered whether the newly relocated Gavin would pursue a congressional seat if Marin County Congresswoman Lynn Woolsey does indeed retire in the near future, a spokesman for Governor Lite issued a statement saying Gavin "has no intention of pursuing a run for the U.S. House of Representatives" and he is "committed to addressing the challenges facing our state in the coming years." (Funny, he said the exact same lie when asked years ago about running for Lieutenant Governor.) Good thing he has all those Facebook friends to back him up.
