Have you noticed that ever since SFist started doing a Friday cocktail column two years ago, SFoodie and The Examiner have both followed suit? Just sayin. Anyhow, we're grateful for it today because we've been trying to do a spring cleanse and haven't been out tasting cocktails this week, so we'll let the Ex pinch-hit this one again. Today they interview barman and former actor Erik Cummins at Colibri, the Mexico-City-specific restaurant across the street from A.C.T. on Geary, and he offers up a recipe for a tequila cocktail of his invention.
Lavanda Niño
1 oz. Partida Reposado tequila
¾ oz. La Pinta pomegranate-infused tequila
¼ oz. Domaine de Canton ginger liqueur
1 oz. fresh squeezed lemon juice
1.4 oz. agave syrup
2 drops Scrappy’s lavender bitters
Combine ingredients in a cocktail shaker and shake over ice. Double strain and serve up. For agave syrup, combine equal parts agave nectar and water.
