We previously broke the story on the opening of SPARC, that clean-and-modern pot dispensary on Mission between 7th and 8th with the vibe of a West Elm-designed apothecary. Well, now the SF chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) has awarded the place a prize for interior architecture, saying that the design "strove to convey their socially conscious philosophy by giving the medical cannabis industry a positive presence in the community, with an environment of grace and craft... [and] the jury saluted the strong social commentary and apothecary-like feel of this beautiful project." Is this where we get to say "Only in SF?" [AIA SF]
