Maybe your family's weekend plans fell through, or you kept things loose until now? Or perhaps you're looking for something more fun? Well, here are a few events that just came through our radar this morning that's entertaining for the whole family.

Lucky Diaz and the Family Jam Band:
Kindie music has been gaining momentum in recent years, much to countless urban parents' delight. This adorable LA-based band is bringing their touring "hip shaking, head bopping, music making" dance party to the Bay Area this weekend, as part of their national tour. They're at SF's Urban Recess this afternoon at 4:30 and Berkeley's Ashkenaz Music and Dance Cultural Center tomorrow.

Family Skateboard Science Weekend: Pro skaters will be demonstrating science in motion today and tomorrow at the Exploratorium's impromptu skate park. FTC is there today and Mission Skates will be there tomorrow. Skate with the pros, get a T-shirt screen-printed by San Franpsycho, learn how to ollie in a special exhibit, or check out a collection of Exploratorium exhibits that reveal the physics of skateboarding.

Bowl-the-Planet Fundraiser: Bowl a Glow-in-the-Dark game or two at Serra Bowl this afternoon, while benefiting SaveNature.Org, who are working to keep science in Bay Area schools. Their goal is $35,000 to support science scholarships for underserved schools and their conservation efforts. Wild costumes (especially antennae) are encouraged!
