While most of the venerated music magazine's local audience will be looking forward to early reviews of an album by a former mouseketeer, Rolling Stone put out it's bi-annual piece of hard-hitting, long-form journalism last night. The Kill Team is Mark Boal's special report on lawless American soldiers in Afghanistan, the blatant murders they've committed on Afghan civilians and the Pentagon's efforts to keep the whole thing out of the public eye. To make matters worse, the central figure in the story is a 22-year-old Army specialist from Wasilla, Alaska. The photos are hard to stomach, but we suggest you read up and prepare for the inevitable protests to follow. [RollingStone]
