Two men from the city of Richmond were shot on Sunday night during a dispute in a SoMa parking lot. One of the victims succumbed to his injures. The incident happened on Jessie Street between Fifth and Sixth streets around 2 a.m.

“There was some type of dispute which resulted in a shooting,” police Chief Jeff Godown explains to the Examiner. "The cause of the argument and where it began were still being investigated."

The victim who died, Joshua McClain, 23, was shot multiple times.

The Examiner goes on to explain: "The shooting suspect, who reportedly ran from the scene, was described only as a black man in his 20s."
