Philosopher and noted gastronome Alice Waters is on Twitter. At last! Because if we have to read another update about the artisanal fare someone is eating and/or drinking, we'd prefer it to come from Waters' fingertips. (She uses the tines of a fork to mash a garlic bulb so as not to bruise the oil, folks. She's that hardcore.) Though we doubt she plans on being that casual on the micro-blogging service. But why is the Donna of the slow food mafia suddenly on Twitter, you ask? According to John Birdsall at SFoodie, she plans on making a big announcement on Monday.

"'It will all make sense Monday,' [David Prior, director of communications for the Chez Panisse Foundation] says, hinting that Alice is poised to tweet something really, really big. A Food Network show with Anthony Bourdain? A Chez Panisse fried chicken truck?"

Exciting!

Until then, hopefully she'll answer SFist's favorite junk food question. We've had everyone from Thomas Keller to Gary Danko tell us what crap they love shoving down their throats. (Resse's Peanut Butter Cups and gummy worms, respectively.) We peg Waters as a Pizza Combos kinda gal. But only she can let us know for sure! We'll try posting another installment of "Food Royalty Reveal Junk Food Favorites" sometime in early April.
