San Francisco's bearded crush, Brian Wilson, had an MRI in Arizona today that revealed the Giants' closer had strained his left oblique muscle. He'll be out of commission until at least Monday. Wilson isn't too concerned about the injury and said about his teammates: "they know I'll be ready" for Opening Day, which is less than two weeks away.

Giants manager Bruce Bochy, who called the injury mild, acknowledged that it is a bit of a setback. He said they'll have a better idea of how Wilson's doing on Monday.

Wilson joked about a good omen that occurred when he was in the MRI machine: "I kid you not, 'Smoke on the Water' was playing, so everything is going to be good."

If Wilson is out for an extended amount of time, it's likely that left-handers Jeremy Affeldt or Javier Lopez, or right-hander Sergio Romo will take over.
