As we mentioned yesterday, the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority's decision to postpone hiring a new Executive Director has exposed our Muni Chief's desire to get the eff out of San Francisco and probably made for a very awkward office environment. According to the Examiner today, SFMTA board chairman Tom Nolan has received word that the MWAA has already reopened their search for a new director and Nat Ford is out of the running completely. While that tidbit is still unconfirmed by the folks in DC, Noland and the SFMTA have scheduled a closed-session meeting with Ford next Tuesday to "talk with him about what he wants and what's best for the agency." We tend to think what's best for the agency is someone who actually wants to be here in town making the busses run properly and such, but maybe we're just being stubborn.
