In a statement to the media, reprinted on the Appeal, the nicely coifed District Attorney explained that "new information has come to light" in the investigation of alleged police misconduct at the Henry Hotel, "that indicates it is better to turn over this investigation to the FBI."

Previously, the DA had said there was no reason for him to step down and you'll remember Gascón's office had to drop a total of 57 cases due to the surveillance videos that came out a few days ago. Stay tuned for the impending FBI inquiry - it's like we're getting a real-life Law & Order spinoff around here.
