Maybe that 50,000 participant limit imposed on Bay to Breakers paid off because according to Bay City News, 41,000 of them have already been sold. That makes the 100th running of the race the fastest selling (er, registering) edition yet. A spokesperson for the race thinks this is a sign that people approve of this year's ban on floats and booze. Which is a nice sentiment, but wait until he gets a load of how people show their disapproval of the ban on booze. (Hint: it's by peeing on stuff.)

The remaining 9,000 spots sell for $52 bucks a pop. Seating in Alamo Square is still free, but please: don't actually pee on things.
