Not a whole lot of details yet, but BCN says police responded to reports of a shooting at 24th and Harrison in the Mission about an hour ago at 12:15 p.m. SFist reader Angela says a man was shot multiple times in the chest and SFPD have taped off the street, but as always we'll update when we get more info.

UPDATED: BCN has updated their report with details from the scene:

[SFPD Officer Albie] Esparza said it appears the victim was standing near a friend's car when someone approached on foot and opened fire with a semi-automatic handgun. The shooter then ran away, and the friend drove the victim to the hospital a few blocks away, he said. The shooter is described as a Hispanic man in his mid-20s wearing a black hoodie or jacket. He was last seen running south on Harrison Street toward 25th Street.

The victim is expected to survive. SFPD also thinks the shooting might be gang-related, but it doesn't appear connected to other recent incidents in the neighborhood. As always, if you have any info call SFPD's non-emergency number at (415) 553-0123. And then, once you're done with that, tip us off.
