Fake Veterinarian is a Real Canine Mutilator

Fake Veterinarian is a Real Canine Mutilator

Down in Salinas, local police and officers from the SPCA searched the home of a local man who is accused of mutilating dogs while posing as a licensed veterinarian. Apparently, unsuspecting dog owners were hiring one Damian Maldonado to come to their houses and perform "ear cropping" and "tail docking" procedures. That might have been bad enough as the procedures are already pretty cruel and unnecessary, but Maldonado didn't even perform them correctly - prompting the unhappy dog owners to call for an investigation.

Maldonado wasn't home when the search went down yesterday and it's not clear if authorities found anything damning or what sort of evidence they were looking for. (Scissors? Pieces of tail? Gross.) In the meantime, remember to always check your Vet's papers.
