Anyone with internet access has surely heard about author Amy Chua. Her memoir, Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother, was recently excerpted in the Wall Street Journal and paired with a rather baiting headline that Chua likely didn't write: "Why Chinese Mothers Are Superior."

In the excerpt, Chua boasts about not letting her two daughters ever go to sleepovers, playdates, or be in a play. Instead they were to either play piano or violin and study every waking moment of their childhood.

The article spread like wildfire and Chua quickly became the big bitch who much of America hates at the moment. But anything that creates as much dialog as this book has is a positive thing, as far as we're concerned.

Chua was in town on Wednesday for a reading and Q&A over at Booksmith. Friend of SFist Juliet Wales attended the reading, and here's what she had to say. Note: Juliet hasn't read the book.
