Oakland Fans can be an ornery bunch, but so can our San Francisco Giants' celebrity closer. One supporter of the Athletics felt snubbed when Wilson refused to sign a broom before the A's tried to sweep a 2-0 Bay Bridge Series back in May of last year.

Apparently Wilson didn't take kindly to the Oaklander's request to sign "Cool Guy" on the cleaning implement and told the fan to come down to the field for a good, old-fashioned round of fisticuffs. Naturally, fighting on the field at a professional sporting event isn't a good idea, so the A's fan kept his seat and kept quiet until this week when he issued his hastily-assembled web-based challenge on iwannafightbrianwilson.com. The challenge:

So this is a formal invite for Brian Wilson to spar me in a legal boxing match in a boxing gym. Any gym he wants any time he wants. It would be a legal sparring match with full headgear and other safety equipment so there is no risk of him getting "seriously" hurt. There would be a ref, and all amateur boxing rules would apply. So if Brian Wilson is a real "tuff guy" like he tries to promote himself to be, and wants to challenge me to fight in a situation where i would get arrested, then I'm sure he is tuff enough to take on this challenge and get into a ring with me and have a legal boxing match! The ball is in his court now!

So there you go. Internet gauntlet: thrown. If Wilson does take him up on the challenge, the owner of iwannafightbrianwilson.com promises to donate any proceeds to a local children's charity, so it's not totally an ego play at least.
