Open Invitation: Ed Lee to Chinese President

Temporary Mayor Ed Lee is a big deal in China apparently. So, as one would expect from a kind-of-appointed mayor, Lee is making it a point to continue Lite Gov Newsom's ChinaSF program which aimed to stay friendly with the folks in Beijing. According to the Chronicle's City Insider today, Lee has extended a formal invitation for China's President Hu Jintao so the city can "maintain a close relationship" with Earth's next top superpower. Lee and Jintao will be dining together tonight at the White House, although cursory googling did not reveal the seating arrangement for the President's state dinner.
