Au Revoir, Newsom!

Well, that's that.

Gavin Newsom has left the building. His mommy-I-gotta-go-potty urgency to ditch local politics in favor of a more estimable gig took flight today as he (finally!) left his measly mayoral position and was sworn in as California's new Lieutenant Governor.

During Newsom's tenure, we saw him legalize gay marriage, publicly battle alcohol and cocaine addiction, give us (Tom Ammiano's) Healthy SF, screw his best friend and his wife, feud with the Board of Supervisors, throw a shit fit, marry former SFist commenter Jennifer Siebel, spark countless masterbation fantasies, and maintain the second best hair in San Francisco. We will miss him dearly. (Seriously, we will.)
