The Chronicle finally noticed today that the new Muni shelters don't really do a whole lot of sheltering. Everyone else already pointed this out back in November, but it's kind of nice of them to validate what we already knew: that no one at the Chron ever actually rides the bus.
The Appeal has all the latest points and counterpoints from Muni and the design firm behind the shelters, but in the meantime: anyone stuck out in the rain would do good to remember a serviceable umbrella from Walgreens costs slightly less than two weeks of the Chronicle at newsstand prices.
