Happy Kwanzaa, Folks!

Happy Kwanzaa, Folks!

Kwankzaa is much more than a melange of angel food cake, apple pie filling, votive candles, and Corn Nuts. Created by Dr. Maulana Karenga in 1966, and celebrated each year from Dec. 26 to Jan. 1, the holiday honors "universal African-American heritage and culture" Also, there will be "seven days of free events throughout the city to celebrate the seven principles (Nguzo Saba) of Kwanzaa," reports SF Bay View. "There will be plenty of food and live entertainment, featuring renowned blues and jazz vocalist Lady Mem’fis and blues legend Bobbie Spider Webb." Check out more at SF Bay View.
