Thanksgiving / Japantown: 23-year-old Medina Abdulkader was fatally shot at 8:55 p.m. on Thanksgiving night at Buchanan Street and Geary Boulevard, near the Japan Center shopping mall. Neighbors at a nearby apartment complex reported hearing several shots.

As of this morning, no arrests have been made, and few details about the shooting have been released. Police are currently reviewing footage from the apartment complex surveillance camera, which was captured during the shooting.

Saturday / Lower Haight: Police were involved in a car chase that began at 15th and Mission Streets and ended at Page and Laguna, resulting in the arrest of the driver, who is believed to be connected to someone who escaped custody at the Turk and Fillmore police station on Friday. The passenger in the chase fled on foot.

Sunday / Pacific Heights: A drive-by shooting occurred at 2 a.m. near Van Ness Avenue and Clay Street on Sunday morning, sending three people to the hospital. None of the wounds are expected to be life threatening. The suspects had reportedly been following the victims on Van Ness, then pulled up alongside them, firing five to seven shots. The vehicle drove off east on Clay Street. No arrests have been made.
