Here are a few holiday events happening this week, if you're into that sort of thing.
Sugar Castle: This Wednesday morning (November 24) a twelve-foot rotating holiday Sugar Castle created by the Westin St. Francis' Executive Pastry Chef Jean-François Houdré will be unveiled. The castle, which was originally created in 2005 and continually grows larger and "more spectacular" each year, resembles a French Chateau.
The castle currently weighs over 1200 pounds and features more than 20 grand circular towers, approximately 30 rooms, illuminated windows and is surrounded by silver sugar trees, stars and snowflakes made out of pastillage, chocolate balls in brilliant colors and elves constructed out of marzipan.
The Sugar Castle will be on display through January 3. Head over for some complimentary hot chocolate in the Westin St. Francis main lobby tomorrow morning from 10 to 11 a.m. for the ceremony.
