A sad tale here, folks: Berkeley student Larry Malik Grayson, a 14-year-old Berkeley High School student who was shot in the head on last week, died on Thursday. He was shot by his classmate, a 17-year-old boy. Berkeleyside reports:
Grayson was shot around 3:26 pm on Saturday Oct. 30 while at the home of a good friend, a 17-year old who lived in the 1500 block of Alcatraz. After the shooting, the 17-year old called 911 and walked into the front courtyard of his apartment complex, where some neighbors said he was crying and distressed and his shirt was splattered with blood. The boy waited for police, who took him to the police department for questioning.
The 17-year-old was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. He has since withdrawn from school. Police will not say what, exactly, led up to the shooting.
