SFist rode the 38 out to the Richmond and back today, and along the way we encountered about seven fare inspectors.
The first inspector was en route to catch the 29 bus and didn't check anyone's proof of payment. The second bunch was boarding the 38 as we were getting off. We were relieved that we didn't get checked because our Clipper card had caused the machine to go crazy earlier, and the driver had told us not to worry about it since a wheelchair was getting on. (Yeah, yeah, we should've tagged it at the back door. Lesson learned.)
Then on our way back downtown, there was a group of inspectors waiting for a particular 38 bus -- they didn't get on the one we boarded.
Anyone else encounter fare inspectors on the buses today?
