We just received word from a friend of SFist of an hour-and-a-half ordeal this afternoon trying to get from Church Street to Embarcadero. This friend reports, "Muni cars are going backwards. Everyone being let off to take buses or walk." Be warned... We just hopped down into Muni to investigate, and the announcement lady is saying, "Due to technical difficulties at Embarcadero Station, we are experiencing delays on the inbound side. Expect slow trains and holds in the station on the inbound side." There are about twenty cars spread between Van Ness and Embarcadero, all piling in the tunnel, and consequently, traffic on the outbound side is at a mere trickle. Let's hope this is cleared up by rush hour! Bet it won't be!
