A federal jury awarded $175,000 to a parolee who spent 22 months in the clink after police found him illegally in possession of a handgun. Local rap star Lorenzo Hall has maintained that the cops planted the weapon on him when they arrested him at his aunt's funeral in 2006 -- he screamed out the squad car window as he was being driven away that they were trying to plant a gun on him. The gun turned out to belong to someone else who had hidden it in a parked car nearby, and Hall was vindicated. [Chron]
