A source recently met with a Commercial Owner Association representative regarding plans for a Lucky Strike (a high-end bowling alley geared to replace the almost-shuttered Borders Books at Third and King Streets) to move in. Here are a few details, some of which include bouncers, additional security, $12 drinks, and a dress code requiring dress jackets for men. (Note: many of these points are based off Lucky Strikes in Los Angeles and are subject to change.)

  • Hours of Operation: 10AM-2AM, full liquor license planned, full restaurant, 2 bars
  • Will have bouncer(s) at the door
  • COA will pay for "additional security" as well (no real definite plans provided)
  • Parking will be available to bowling patrons the bottom floor of the parking garage (hardly used now) and they will take the elevator to the first level by the CIRM entrance
  • After 10PM, men required to wear dress jackets
  • “High end” bowling alley, $12 drinks and $60-80 per lane [?!?!]
  • Single main entrance will be a revolving door off King Street (to minimize noise)
  • The overall “look” of the exterior will not change much (i.e. windows will remain)
