Bar Bambino, the little 16th Street Italian joint that could, is opening a second location. And, according to Inside Scoop, that new location, smack-dab in the under-construction ODC Theater at 17th and Shotell, will get a new name: Pronto by Bar Bambino.

"The cafe will give pastry chef Alyce Shields her chance to shine by doing breakfast pastries and other sweets, " explains Paolo Lucchesi. "Shields has also been formally named the pastry chef of Bar Bambino, which is the first time in the restaurant’s three years they’ve had an official pastry chef. Owner Christoper Losa says it represents a renewed focus on pastry."

And just like that, we now crave a sleeve of Oreos. Anyway, the new place might -- might -- open up sometime in early 2011.
