This Weekend: The San Francisco Improv Festival starts tonight, and runs through August 21. The much anticipated Outside Lands Festival is here, and the fog will lend those special trippy effects again. (Stay tuned for SFist This Weekend tomorrow for more events.)
Next Weekend: The Rock Make Street Festival is twice as big as last year's with three stages this time. The fest is also having a pre-party at California Academy of Sciences' NightLife on the Rocks next Thursday. The Street Food Festival is back and will take up five street blocks this time. Let's hope that's enough space. (Also, are you sick of street food yet?) Sunday Streets will be at Great Highway next Sunday.
Beyond:
The SF Film Society just sent out their fall schedule, which includes film festivals for children, the best in animation, and celebrating Taiwanese, Italian, and French cinema. Not to be missed in December is the silent film Sir Arne’s Treasure accompanied by a live soundtrack from the Mountain Goats.
The Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival line-up was announced this week. It'll be here in less than two months!
The adorable Kristen Schaal will be at Cobb's in October, as will the comically sultry Jennifer Coolidge.
Also in October is Litquake, as previously mentioned.
As always, let us know about more stuff in the comments!
