A possibly drugged up mother fell asleep last night in Petaluma and lost track of her two-year-old daughter, only to have the tyke end up wandering the streets of town by herself, unable to point her way back home.
The details of how little Yolanda ended up outside and so far from home remain unclear, but police managed to track down first an aunt and then the girl's mother, whose name is Laura, and who they woke up this morning at 9:30 and told that her daughter had been wandering outdoors since 11 p.m. last night. The last the mother knew, allegedly, Yolanda had been on the couch. Look for this story to dominate local news broadcasts, as it currently is on ABC7, for the next 24 hours.
