An 80-person entourage including Newsom, former mayors Willie Brown and Frank Jordan, Nancy Pelosi, Di Fi, and BART board of directors president James Fang, begins a tour of China today in celebration of San Francisco's 30-year-long sister-city relations with Shanghai.
The gang kicks off the trip today at the World Expo, where a big booth will display and brag about all the Bay Area's top green initiatives and sustainability programs, as selected by Bay Area companies.
Also along for the ride are members of the San Francisco Ballet and Opera, who will perform in China to represent S.F.'s cultural scene.
According to SFGate, Newsom will be back on Sunday, just in time for Father's Day.
