A six- or seven-story blue building, presumably an SRO, at the northwest corner of Turk and Taylor is currently on fire. Much smoke is filling the streets around mid-Market, and the traffic situation, with all the fire trucks trying to get by and various gawkers, has gotten ugly. No word on injuries just yet, however SFist did spot an ambulance pulling away at a brisk pace, so injuries appear likely. Update: The building appears to be 111 Taylor, which is home to a half-way house called Cornell Corrections.
