Only one Golden Girl remains, ladies and gentlemen, and it's Betty White. Rue McLanahan has died of a massive stroke at the age of 76.

Rue had suffered a minor stroke earlier this year following bypass surgery, and while hospitalized, her friend Betty White had sent her a card that said, "Dear Rue, I hope you hurry up and die so I can be the last Golden Girl left. NOT KIDDING!" Rue thought this was hilarious.

See her full obit over at People. This is a sad day for gays and TV fans alike. And is this the third and last celebrity in the chain of three, following Dennis Hopper and Gary Coleman? We hope so. Let's not have another Summer of Death, please.
