Apple CEO Steve Jobs and Google CEO Eric Schmidt met for coffee in Palo Alto last week. The power geeks, as Valleywag's Ryan Tate already covered, have been in a bro fight for the last few years or so, culminating with a shouting match outside Burning Man. Anyway, Silicon Valley is abuzz over the two meeting for a (staged?) coffee date last week since it means reconciliation, or more money, or whatever.
What's most noteworthy, obviously, is the aesthetic attire of Steve Jobs: short-in-the-leg jeans he consciously rolled once at the hem, black socks, tennis shoes. During a staged shoot, mind you.
Now, we know that CEOs love (almost more than power and money) being viewed as average Joes, who like to grab a beer and burger with the gang, who happen to be where they are due to inherent genius. But, we sure do miss the days of plump CEOs with slicked back hairdos, encrusted wristwatches, a fearful mistress in every city, a regular booth at Morton's, and an air of menacing mystery. Alas.
