Enough with the semifinalist nominee list nonsense. The final James Beard Award (the Oscars of food) nominees were announced today. Congratulations to Charles Phan of The Slanted Door and Gary Danko of Gary Danko who were both nominated in the coveted "Outstanding Chef" category. While "Best New Restaurant" nods went to Mission pizza joint Flour + Water, hard-to-score-a-reservation Castro joint Frances, and downtown's exceptional RN74.
