Evening Palate Cleanser: Magnetic Fields' "Love Is Like a Bottle of Gin"

If you're going to the Magnetic Fields' show tonight at the Herbst (it's sold out, but there'll probably be Noise-Pop-exhausted scalpers outside), you may not hear this song, but you can expect lead singer/songwriter Stephin Merritt to be as deadpan and depressive as ever and the other members to be nerdy and mostly quiet. We saw them at the Fox on Saturday, and it was a lovely but very low-energy show played to a pretty low-energy audience. In any event, kiss us like you mean it. We don't wanna get over you.
