...Well, almost. Chef Dennis Leary (Canteen, The Sentinel) is in talks to take over the beloved, century-old, downtown watering hole, The House of Shields, and he plans to do little to the space except spruce it up. This should come as a relief to everyone who lamented about the place being on the market last month. Leary's Sentinel sandwich shop is in the same building, so we're guessing he'll be adding a bar menu of some kind.

So far, the only info we've got is via the Chron's Inside Scoop, whose spies promise that Leary doesn't want to transform the space into a "yuppie Marina hangout." But we're sure that bankers and downtown business types, some of whom do live at least Marina-adjacent, will still enjoy a few beers there.
