What with the will-he-or-won't-he items Newsom is drunk off of today, one thing is for sure: San Francisco Bike Coalition director Leah Shahum is, according to SFBG, taking a leave of absence. Manning a lot of cyclists, who are known for their curtness, Shahum was a breath of fresh air -- and an effective one to boot.

"Under Shahum, the Bike Coalition has grown to become San Francisco’s largest grassroots advocacy organization, boasting more than 11,000 members," SFBG points out, going on to say, "Shahum leaves in May and will be temporarily replaced by Renee Rivera, who served for several years on the SFBC board."

Bring us back a cookie (or eight), Leah!
