Sure, you could honor Freedom to Marry Day, happening this Friday, at one of the many wonk-filled events scattered around the Bay Area. But, really, wouldn't you prefer to do it in style? With an open bar? With food by Traci Des Jardins and Barbacco? With dapper-looking people? With good music? For a good cause?

Yes. Yes, you would.

So: head on down to SOMA this Friday night to check out Raise a Glass to Love, a benefit for Marriage Equality USA. Food will be provided by Jardiniere, the new Barbacco, and Miss Pearl's Jam House; the curiously named Mount Gay Rum will front the booze.

And, since it's being put on by Just Married and dot429, you know it will be a swank, yet inclusive, event. That is to say, gay, straight, single or coupled ilk are all welcome.

Suggested donation to attend the bash is $20; but, you know, you should probably give more. And, best of all, if you don't bring a date, there will be many fine dandies and dykes from which to choose. Lucky you.

What: Raise a Glass to Love
When: Friday, Feb 12
Where: Studio F, 439 Bryant (between Second and Third Streets)
